May 2025 Wine Club Release
Dear JM wine club members,
Our spring release is upon us, and we have a beautiful line-up of new wines that we are excited to share with you. These 2024 whites and 2022 reds highlight the distinct character and quality of Washington wine.
I wanted to take this opportunity to share key initiatives we have going on at the winery this year and beyond. As some of you may have heard, we are planning to move our wine production to Walla Walla this fall. We have secured a great winemaking facility and a stellar production team near downtown Walla Walla. Tommy and I have rented a house near the facility from the end of August to the middle of October, and we will lead the winemaking together. Our Enologist and Cellar Master, Amy Garofano, will be back and forth between Maltby and Walla Walla managing our work orders for the 2025 harvest wines, as well as the remaining 2023 and 2024 red wines currently in process at our Vault in Maltby location. Our plan is to produce roughly 4,000 cases of wine in 2025.Â
Our goal every year is to improve our winemaking and your experience, and we believe this move will help us accomplish both goals. Being closer to the vineyards offers two major advantages; it allows for more frequent monitoring of the fruit on the vine and shortens the time from harvest to crush. If you get a chance to come out to Walla Walla in the Fall we would love to show you the process. Â
As we reduce our production to 4,000 cases, we will continue to sell our wine direct to consumers (DTC) and not through a distributor(s). That means your wine club membership will give you priority to all our wines, and we will continue to make it easy for you to come visit us at our tasting rooms. You are the key reason JM Cellars has been successful for twenty-eight years and we thank you for your loyalty. You’re the inspiration behind my passion for winemaking, and in so many ways, it feels like this incredible journey has only just begun.
Cin Cin,
John
