Named in honor of our beautiful Woodinville property, Johnâs enduring goal is to create a line of high quality "house" wines for a great price! Our 2024 Bramble Bump White features flavors and aromas of ripe, juicy peach with an undertone of tropical fruits like passionfruit and pineapple. Fresh with youthful acidity, the 2024 BBW delights with a surprising softness on the finish. Quintessence Sauvignon Blanc was fermented and aged in stainless steel and then blended with barrel-aged Boushey Vineyard Grenache Blanc and Stillwater Chardonnay. We believe it is the perfect addition for all your summer get-togethers, brunches with friends, impromptu picnics and celebrations, large and small.
JMâs 100% Grenache Blanc hails from the esteemed Boushey Vineyard in Grandview, Washington. One of our favorite white varietals, Grenache Blanc was âfashionably lateâ to the harvest party in 2023, and proves that patience is a virtue in winemaking. Some of Johnâs most important decisions are made in the vineyards along with analyzing fruit chemistry prior to scheduling a pick. Most years, our Grenache Blanc makes an appearance by mid-harvest but in 2023 the Grenache Blanc was our last Washington pick - the only fruit coming in later was our Sonoma Coast Pinot! John made many stops at Boushey on his weekly 800-mile vineyard tours to sample and check on this fruit. The 2023 Grenache Blanc has refreshing crispness and flavors of citrus and melon rounded out by a smooth, silky body: perfect for a warm day. Fermented and aged in French oak (50% new, 50% used), this wine appeals to palates that enjoy a flavorful, aromatic white wine with all the most subtle characteristics of barrel fermenting and aging. Enjoy!
The first vintage of Ancora Imparo was produced in 2018, when John was experimenting with fermenting and aging grenache in a clay amphora vessel. He wanted to name the resulting wine, âMy Experimentâ. (Peggy vetoed that name thinking it might scare folks off.) Fortunately, John came across a famous Michelangelo quote from when the artist was 87 years old. When asked how he continued to improve upon his craft, Michelangeloâs answer was, âAncora Imparoâ, an Italian phrase loosely translated to âYet I Learnâ. John is busy preparing for his 27th harvest, and lives by this motto. The 2022 vintage is 100% Grenache. 80% was fermented and aged in French oak (50% new and 50% once used), the remaining 20% of the wine was fermented and aged in a clay amphora. This Ancora Imparo showcases an explosion of luscious marionberry and ripe raspberry flavors and aromas that linger throughout the palate and finish with just a hint of minerality. Yumm!
Nietos is a tribute to our former winery partners, Mike and Jackie Bezos, to honor the friendship, partnership, mentorship and generosity they showed us over the past 15 years. We will forever be grateful to them and continue to make Nietos every year. Meaning âgrandchildren'' in Spanish, the Nietos label has a watermark â11â representing the Bezosâ eleven grandchildren. The â21 Nietos is a blend of 68% Syrah and 32% Mourvèdre from one of the top vineyards in Washington State, Stillwater Creek Vineyard. This wine has depth and richness - reminiscent of a traditional Châteauneuf-du-Pape from the southern RhĂ´ne region of France. Aged in 50% new French oak for 18 months, the â21 Nietos drinks smoothly now but can age for 10+ years. Cin Cin!
Showcasing fruit from two of Washingtonâs most notable vineyards, Ciel du Cheval and Champoux Vineyards, the 2021 Old Vine Syrah is a luscious full bodied Syrah. Fruit harvested from vines planted over two decades ago, produced a striking Syrah with excellent depth of character, approachable tannins, and bold flavors of blackberry, creme brulee, and tobacco. In the RhĂ´ne tradition, John co-fermented this Syrah with 3% Viognier to produce a deep purple wine with beautiful dark cherry aromas. The Old Vine Syrah is delicious now and pairs well with rich cuts of meat, wild mushrooms, and homemade pasta. Or raise a glass on its own and share it with those you love.
